Owned an etec 225
Currently have a boat with an etec 175
Also have twin etec 200s
Absolutely love them. my engines before these were a Yamaha 4 stroke 115 and a salt water series 200. All great engines. I've never had to put an etec in the shop and I am hell on a motor.

Isn't the oil extremely expensive for the etec?

good to know, I've just been told by mechanics they don't hold up to harsh south la conditions, had a couple buddies that had them on bass boats and got rid of em bc they had nothing but problems, you probly take better care of your shite than they do though
