Can someone explain it to me? Seriously? I don't understand why you bring them off the bench? Is this to try to give you an advantage against the other teams 2nd string? I have never understood this strategy of bringing arguably two of your best four players off the bench. Why not just start them?

Some would say you answered your own question here.

It also allows you to have different starting lineups against teams that have different strong or weak aspects. It add flexibility to adapt to game situations.

There is only one basketball. All 5 guys can't shoot at once. Besides "starter" doesn't mean anything. It's who you have on court in the last 6 minutes.
