That may be true, but call me crazy... if Brees MUST take a hit, I'd rather it be a hit he can see and brace for than one from the blindside. Which usually results in a fumble.
If you've ever seen Brees play, you'd know the dude has eyes in the back of his head. He is excellent at moving in the pocket. It's much easier for him to dodge D-Linemen coming from the side than it is coming from the middle.

Yep. Dude seems to scoot out of the way of those side rushes most of the time. Obviously LT is important for any NFL team, but the middle is very important to us too.

He does not have eyes on the back of his head. I know it's an expression, but he's taken blindside hits before... And they've resulted in turnovers before. LT is more than likely your best pass blocker, no matter which way you slice it; this is a must in that position. I'd rather him be able to keep his eyes downfield then have to look over his shoulder every snap.
It is beginning to scare me because Brown isn't a reliable option, Armstead isn't ready to play, and Smith is an underachieving slacker.

Yeah..if anything, he seems to have less control over the ball when he has pressure burst up the middle when someone blows up the center
