Words of wisdom here.
I saw an extractor claw snap on a Taurus 1911 when I was with my friends at Sherbourne. I had never seen that happen before until that day. It was firing a round and the case was just sitting in the chamber. We didn't know why it wouldn't eject the round and then noticed the flat face of the breach with no claw on the edge. Tisk tisk...

Save up $50 more and get a Ruger SR9c.
It's been mentioned twice in here and I agree. The Ruger SR series of handguns really is the best value for the money. I purchased my SR9c for $419 at Precision a couple of years ago. The damn thing runs like a top after thousands of rounds and I carry it almost daily. I trust my life with it for sure.
I've been eyeballing that SR45 though. But if you want other flavors, you can always get one in 9, 40, or 45.

I had a PT 111 Millenium (2008), fired over 1000 rds thru it and never had an issue. It was a pretty sweet pistol considering the price.
