Had mine for 3 months. Returned to about 80% normal. Had to use eye drops for a few years.

Mine lasted a month. It is caused from inflammation of the 7th facial nerve. Took prednisone. I wouldn't wish it on anyone.

Not to scare you, but now that I'm old(er) I notice one side of my face has aged differently than the other. Not a lot, but it has. Other than that, no residual effects that I'm aware of.

Hang in there. I know it sucks, but it'll get better.

go to a real good massage therapist. Can stimulate those muscles. An experienced one will know what to do. Ask first before you book the appointment.
