I blame his parents, no way would I have let my son pass up college for a mere $300K.

The kid will very likely never see the MLB. I couldn't imagine passing up the opportunity to play ball at The Box and chase co-eds for anything less than $700k. At that point, I can't blame anybody. Minor league ball is work.
