This is not true no matter how many people think it. Here are his 2011 stats vs 2012.


2011 59 punts 2,618 yards, 44.4 average. 5 touchbacks

2012 59 punts 2,643 yards, 44.8 average, 10 touchbacks

Pretty freakish that he had exactly the same number of punts each year. But as you can see he had a better average his second year. Yes, he did put more in the end zone which was disappointing. But really he had a way over the top year in 20ll when we were able to down so many next to the goal line. However, consider also, that he did not have Mathieu there the second year to down them.

Don't forget Ron Brooks. He was also instrumental in downing many of those punts inside the opponent's 10 yd. line. Credit where credit is due.
