While I by no means think Flanno should be starting at RB, it wasn't so much that he was ineffective as much as he was flat out ignored. In the first 15 minutes he got deep into the attacking third a few times and had a brilliant give and go exchange with someone (maybe Cou?) along that right side.
I wouldn't want him even as a second string RB right now, but I don't think he was poor on his own merit against Arsenal.

(i realize now you probably meant that he had a nice give and go in the match, not in the first 15 mins, but i still think my initial reading is more humorous
