Ideally, Anderson wouldn't, but he could certainly play that role.
I would also be surprised to see Thiago in true holding role but wouldn't be surprised to see him play next to a Michael Carrick (and would kind of be surprised to see him behind RvP)
Regardless, United should probably buy more than one central midfielder this summer (just like the 3-4 previous summers)

Barca potentially really fricked up with this one. If they can hold on to him until August the release clause goes back up to €90mm

LOL guys,
de Gea means he will see him on the pitch in the Manchester Derby.
Thiago is Citizen.

He should stay at Barca where he belongs - in the best midfield in the world. I don't really see where he would fit at United.
He could play in the "2" in a 4-2-3-1, but I imagine he would have to be paired with a ball-winner (which United really don't have).
I'm sure he would be a good get for United in time, but they're chasing the wrong type of midfielder atm.

If you have a chance to get him right now, you have to go after him. He's just that good.
If United needs to pair him with a ball-winner like I said earlier (and they do), I think they'll make the move.
