Good point on the lapel pins...almost a mandatory part of any politicians wardrobe after the lack of one on Obama's lapel during the first campaign was "proof" he was an anti-American muslim.
My guess is none of us have ever thought this country was perfect. There are lots of ways of demonstrating your displeasure with the actions of our government, sitting during the national anthem, raising gloved fists during the Olympic ceremonies, etc. are the kinds of peaceful protests our Constitution protects.
All this "America...love it, or leave it" BS is sad.
