I'm not talking individual episodes, I'm talking story.
That said, it was still a good season and enough episodes had climactic endings that a non-climactic ending to episode 10 didn't bother me.
I do wish the creators would have decided on a different format than 10 episode seasons. We don't get to see some of the depth you mention.

I'm not a reader, though I've read the first book and a chunk of the second book, but I've heard through the grapevine that a lot of books 4 and 5 cover the same expanse of time, but focus on different aspects of the story. This season has me thinking that as the scope of the show gets wider and wider, its going to be harder and harder to have a tight narrative in a TV show.
