That second half was amazing. When Götze came on for Mandzukic, their defense had a very tough time tracking the deepest of our attacking players because it changed every time we attacked. Pretty solid.

So, who is the mole? Where is the smart money?

Obvious mole is obvious....Guardiola is the mole.

Who knows? Bild has always known about Bayern stuff so I'm not even sure there is one.

Unbelievable clear/save by Alaba after Neuer came out the box...relatively quiet match outside of Robben's goals so far, but that 72nd minute sequence was beautiful...

Amen to that. Have Robben and Pep squashed their problem or what? I haven't heard much out of them.

Scoring goals seems to solve all arguments...
With the team so shorthanded, I feel like Robben will use the next few weeks to take as many shots on goal as possible...I feel like there's a chip on his shoulder and it's motivating him in a great way. I'd also like to keep seeing Götze in the scoring mix.
Muller's looked a little sluggish to me lately, but Kroos has continued his top-notch play...a great fit in this new scheme.

I think Kroos is the winner in this new scheme. He's been incredible in it.

daily dose of feels
Bayern Munich - the evil German giants.
quote:
The 18-year-old made his senior debut last season but has been injured for much of the current campaign.
"The Danish doctors didn't think he could survive. I couldn't stop crying when I arrived at the training ground. My father could die," Højbjerg in an interview with Danish TV DR.
"I'm 18 and here I am. I'm injured and I'm alone. What shall I do?"
Guardiola then called Højbjerg to speak to the young Dane personally.
Højbjerg continued: "He said: 'I've heard about your father and I'm extremely upset about it. Let's have a chat.'
"And then I just started to cry and said I was bewildered and scared. Then he said to me: 'You have to stand by the people who are close to you, even if your work suffers.
"Then he began to cry and didn't know what to say."
The Bundesliga champions then arranged for the player's father to be flown to Germany to receive treatment.
"Now they say my father has a reasonable chance of survival," said Højbjerg.

but for Pep being a good guy.

Robben scores 4 minutes in, then taken off on a stretcher early in Augsburg match, thanks to reckless keeper...
They were patching up the knee, hopefully just precautionary. Got a ton of injuries already
ETA: Looks like a bad cut, may have lucked out

That was a sloppy game to watch. Augsburg was out there to be physical, not to win. Neuer only had to make one or two saves, but thats par for the course

Müller was having another sub-par performance before his goal to make it 2-0...nice goal, but several miscues before that.

Nice reality check we got yesterday (but not as much as when Citeh realized the correct goal differential)...
I blamed Dante/Boateng for poor efforts initially but after re-watching the match, I feel like Alcantara didn't give us much at all at DM and should maybe shoulder some of the blame for the crappy defense. Unless he's still nicked, I'd have preferred to see Javi in that role, though he did sub in for Götze (wasn't sure about that one). Boateng has made some strides this season, and Dante is often solid, though can be inconsistent/reckless.
The real head scratching sub was Shaq (who I like as a spark plug) but not for our best height on the team (Mandzo). Hate to keep comparing to last year's team, but in the Barça matches, we had such a height advantage when going up in the air. Yesterday, we'd set up corners and free kicks into the box, and had little chance of a header with that lineup. I feel like the short, quick, possession team can cruise in most matches, except when going up against the big boys in the CL.
Good chance I'm making too much of the height thing, but it wasn't fun watching City control things in the 2nd half.
All in all, the loss may end up being a good thing in the end...far better to lose now than 2 or 3 months from now.

Can't believe there isn't a separate Club World Cup thread...(sarcasm)
Easy run thus far, 3-0 early 2nd half...goals by Ribery, Mandzo & Gotze
