Gray has more top of the rotation stuff than Nola does. He pitched fantastic last night. He has the potential to be a dominant starter in the majr leagues and he can throw four pitches. However, his fastball does not have the run that Nola's does.

That's all I'm saying, except that I disagree that Nola's fastball has more run. Read the scouting reports man. THe reason Gray is so high on everyone's board is because his FB has late life and he has effortless delivery to throw 96+.

That's taking nothing away from Nola who has great run on his FB, but sacrifices SIGNIFICANT velocity to do so. Nola sat at 87-88 last night on many of his fastballs. He hit 91 a few times, but for him to be a top 5 pick, he needs to sit at 91 the majority of his starts and occasionally touch 93-94.

I know that Gray has late life on his stuff. Believe me, I understand that. Nola's fastball runs a lot, especially when he subtracts from his fastball. Those ones at 87-88 were running all over the place on right handers last night. Nola has been throwing in the low 90's and he can certainly touch 94.
Gray has significantly more velocity and projects as a top of the rotation guy and has electric stuff, but you can't possibly think after last night that his FB runs more than Nola's.
