Totally agree. condense to multi use tools. And channel locks and vise grips will save your arse more times than not. I have not bought one of these yet but they look interesting:



You will also not hear me say this often but, in this case buy cheap tools. You will not use them often and durability will not be a big deal. Harbor freight is your friend.

One other tool if this is an old Chevy make sure you have a socket that will fit the universal belt tensioning pulley and a short cheater bar to be able to slide over the wrench.

and make sure you still have the factory tool or a substitute to lower your spare if needed.

cant believe I left this out. I once stopped after buying a Chevy 4x4 with a rebuilt engine when it lost acceleration despite the pedal being on the floor and discovered that the throttle cable was jumping off the throttle body. I repaired with a piece of wire from a retread I found on the road after walking nearly a half mile. That repair was still in place the day I sold the truck 4 years later
