You are not in control of this situation. They will not be giving you the deposit for owed rent, you will be taking their deposit for breaking the lease.
To go after them for "owed rent" you will have to go to court. Again, this is not something you want to do.

I'm with you and I agree....I guess I'm just saying I'm gonna do my best to frame it that way bc it better serves me ...although I am going to "require" the reimbursement of the $1100 discount I gave for the 2 year lease...we'll see ...
