About last night...

I was not able to watch the beginning of last night's game and could only get the score update and sporadic audio. This morning I watched the replay of the first inning expecting to see the worst defensive play ever and was a bit surprised. Yes, Ibarra and Bregman missed plays that they typically make. What I saw, that I didn't expect to see, was that SHSU came out blistering the baseball. I think everyone was already on edge based on the missed homerun and base running blunder in the top half that resulted in 1 run on what should have been a big inning. SHSU comes out hitting Nola hard and Nola is not getting the call at or slightly below the knees. A couple of errors, a few very good hits and a texas leaguer later and we're down 5-1. What I also didn't know from the scoring update is that short of a really good play in CF, it could have been worse. The team and Nola settled down and took the V, which will hopefully build character.

Nola had to throw it right down the middle to get a strike. Of course they were hitting it.

This x 1000,I will say that LSU seems to pitch over the heart of the plate more than most, especially ahead in the count.

Actually, balls and strikes were not an issue until possibly the 7th or 8th batter and while Nola probably gets the call at the knees, typically, the calls were not as obvious as it may have seemed in the heat of the moment.

Strikezone was tighter than a 18 year old female college freshman last night. Nola had to throw it almost completely down the middle to get a call

Taking the V always builds character....
oh, and solid analysis.

I didn't watch the entire replay, simply the first inning and this was not the reason for what happened in the first inning.

Clearly. Just wanted to add a little post meltdown perspective that it was not as bad as I think it may have appeared and SMSU came out aggressive and hit the ball well in the first.
