Gotta say, every LSU fan I met was very nice and actually wished us luck and wanted to see us in the Saturday night game.

As a Cajun fan and alum, I have no problem with LSU fans for the most part. There are a few though that do tend to be loud and obnoxious, but every fan base has that. Usually when the Cajuns are on the road in football, I try to make some LSU games if they are playing at home. And yes, I do wear purple and gold to the games. You see, not all Cajun fans pull against LSU. Sure, some do. But there are also quite a few of them who really just don't care what LSU does. And that's where the root of the problem lies. There are diehard LSU fans who feel that since LSU is the flagship, that you have to pull for LSU. It's imperative. Well, the answer to that is....no I don't. Take me for example. If LSU loses in something, I don't get all that upset. That doesn't necessarily mean I'm happy. It just doesn't affect me like it would the diehard Tiger fan. On the contrary, most LSU fans claim to pull for in-state schools. But when these schools lose, do you really think they care that much? Most likely no. That's where I stand with LSU. And for some reason, some people just don't get that. And when you have to hear that from a larger fan base, especially the loud mouth fans who never even stepped foot on LSU's campus during a school day, it definitely gets aggravating.

Sure, some Cajun fans pull for LSU because of jealousy. It's normal for a smaller school to feel that way. Hell, I wish our school had a $120 million budget to play with in athletics. But we do as much as we can with the $17 million that we have. It's just the way that it is. But fans will be fans. It's what makes sports fun.
