Emergency food isn't a bad idea here. Not a month but a week or so. Avalanche, earthquake or getting stranded on an island for a week are all possibilities. Most folks keep a week or so of food at their cabins. Sometimes the seas keep you trapped for weeks at a time.

I was strictly talking about the weather. Do you remember Louisiana summers? Now imagine no air conditioning.
