You are right. I had too much alcohol over the w/e It must have been 20 years ago when they played on memorial day w/e...of course alcohol was even more involved back then.

Regardless I just don't see a significant ratings increase b/c Vandy/LSU played. I would even think the ratings would have been lower in SEC states.

The SEC tournament championship has only been broadcast nationally by ESPN for the last 4 years. I know that some of those years it was on ESPNU, which is beyond basic cable. Given the change to put it on ESPN2 and pair it with the ACC game to make a programming block, I don't see why you are so certain that there was no uptick in the ratings at all.

It was more accessible to people and at least a little more promoted than normal.
