re: Digging a Pond Questions - Best way for fish and managing snakes?

Yeah, white crappie in a small pond is a bad idea. My landlord stocked put some in his 5 acre pond. He's spent the next 7 years trying to fish them all out, they spawn earlier than everything else and will eat everything that hatches after that. I caught some nice bass in his pond when I first moved in, 3 years later it was all crappie and damn hard trying to find a bass.
