Some golfers have a little more respect for the traditions of the game as well as some dignity. They understand that while the putters are indeed legal, they are still controversial and refrain from using them.

I don't think it's undignified to anchor a putter or anything, it's just another advancement in golf I guess
I wonder if there was any backlash when they started using graphite shafts, or adjustable drivers, or fatso grips

I guess you are still using a persimmon head and balata? Balata too new for you? Maybe a gutta percha ball?
Those are all more traditional and certainly the sound of a well struck drive with a 'wood' is more dignified.

anchoring the putter takes out all the nerves in putting. Its pretty much put it on line with good speed and it drops. There are so many things that go into a regular putting stroke that is minimized when anchoring the putter
