if you amnesty a player(kobe bean), are you allowed to resign him? or is there some type of rule that prohibits that?

You can't resign a player you amnesty until 1 season has passed. So if Kobe is going to miss a full year then they could save a ton of money in luxury tax by doing it. Then after next season they could sign him. The big issue is that they would lose their bird rights so he would have to take a huge pay cut to resign.
