missed the number but this season is the most number of fans who have shown up to baseball games in school history in one season. (its a national attendance record as well)

Went to my first baseball game Thursday night. It was long overdue. Proud to say I contributed.

there is a strange phenomenon going on in american sports right now. people are paying for tickets but not going. every game i go to and every game i watch on tv, regardless of the sport or school, has lower attendance than a few years ago. i was really surprised last season to see several high profile fb games with two ranked teams with thousands of empty seats at schools that have had exceptional attendance in the past.
it wasn't that long ago that there would be multiple weekend series with almost no empty seats. fans at the games are more apathetic now too.
i guess what i don't understand is if you spend alot of money on a home theater or nice tv, why keep buying the tickets to games you're not going to attend?

If LSU just used their figures for actual attendance (228,352) that would still rank 5th in the country.
