Guess you missed the part where I said ideally thats what you would want your catcher to do in that situation......here is what I posted on page 2

agreed..my first thought was eject the catcher for blocking the plate without the ball. But, the replay shows Rhymes and the ball getting there at the same time. So, it really was just bad timing.


ETA: where was the right fielder?

OK I didn't see that. Then we agree, except that I don't usually assume good intentions in a collision without the ball.
