Mr Brooks was filmed entirely in Shreveport and it was supposed to be in Portland. His house is a house on Cross Lake and his office is the convention center. I've sat in on meetings in the room that was his office.
If you watch the movie again (and it is great so why not), at the end, when they go into the cemetary by the Municipal, there is a van in front placed there to block Elvis' statue.
