people who judge me when I wear my football jerseys hurt my feelings. I wish my life was as perfect as theirs.

I usually wear a Knicks jersey on game days. Either Ewing or Anthony...I have a Polamalu jersey for Sundays.
I have a throwback David Palmer jersey I sometimes wear for Bama games.
...and I couldn't care less what anyone thinks of me for doing so.

I've got a Chipper Jones Jersey, a personalized Braves jersey, a Matt Ryan Jersey, and two Georgia Bulldogs jerseys. I wear the football jerseys on game days, and wear my Braves jerseys whenever I want. No fricks given

I will only wear a basketball jersey but not of a current player. I have a Isaiah Thomas Indiana jersey I recently bought. Looking for a fe more too.

The people who judge the adults who wear sports jerseys are probably the same people who judged their classmates at LSU because they didn't have any t-shirts commemorating the latest fraternity/sorority function on campus to wear to class.

I don't wear jerseys anymore, but it doesn't bother me if someone else does it.

you should've had that one.

I've never heard anybody IRL talk shite about people wearing jerseys. This anti-jersey thing must be only for the internet badasses.

Yes as poor people have the hundreds of dollars to drop on authentic jerseys.

I wear hockey sweaters to hockey games. I think that is a hockey thing.
As far as football goes, I understand how some think it is silly to wear the "Fan" jersey with the long sleeves. I have a few college jerseys that are player cut (official team wear) and do not feel silly wearing them, but would not own a "fan" jersey.

Oh, well if YOU don't like them, I'm humiliated and will burn all my jerseys tomorrow. You have put me in my place. I have seen the light.

I think it's weird. Children wear jerseys of their favorite team or athlete.

I think it's a regional thing. In the Northeast men will wear jerseys to games. In the south it's pretty much a no-no. The south in general is more formal. Most would never dare wear tennis shoes on an evening about town with a nice collared shirt but in the Midwest it is very common.

And let's say you are a handsome sob. I thank you for thinning the competition at the bar after a sporting event. If you are old and or fat then my point is moot. Carry on
Why, thank you. I am a handsome, old, fat SOB. The only people who care what other adults wear in a non-work situation are between the ages of 21-30 and not really adults anyway. If you have a wife, a mortgage, and a kid, you really do not care if some 25 year old bro does not approve of you.
But come up to the bar and introduce yourself. I'll buy you a beer. Because I have a job.

yea but the north east is more pro sports and more people have them for pro games than college, you still see tons of people wearing jerseys at pro games in the south.

so you're admitting jerseys are childish, but you don't care?

I own a Red Wings Lidstrom sweater and a few soccer jerseys. I wear them all the time because they are comfortable. I will never understand why people judge someone because they are wearing a jersey.

Just the second part. I don't care.
As for the childish part, I think the people who care the most are people I don't really consider adults anyway. I think it is an issue among the permanently adolescent who are desperately trying to be seen as "adult". I think actual adults don't give it much thought.
I wouldn't wear a jersey on a night on the town or anything, but I wouldn't wear a t-shirt either, and I wear t-shirts as well. If you're going to a game, or going somewhere to watch a game... wear what you want. The only people who care what you wear probably don't matter anyway.
