So almost half our losses came because we simply didnt show up in the field (And to a degree, at the plate).

I don't think it is very accurate to say that we didn't show up in the field last night. The conditions were terrible as far as the ball being wet. There were many nice defensive plays in the game until the two errors in the 7th. One of the errors was due to a freshman being a hair to aggressive on a ground ball trying to turn 2 and one was a bad throw with a wet baseball on a bunt that could have been caught except that the baserunner arrived right when the ball did. I wouldn't say "our defense didn't show up".

While I agree the field was not perfect, I dont think it played a factor in either of the errors on us. Bregman simply misplayed a chopper and Ibarra made a horrific throw to 1st.

We've set a high standard for our fielding this year. When you have 37 errors in 50 games, having games of 2 or 3 errors when you average well under 1 would be "not showing up" in the field. Obviously there's much worse than that for other teams, but those other teams probably aren't fielding at a .981 clip either.
