Mountain lion causes a stir in Bossier City neighborhood
We've definitely got them on this end of the state and honestly I'm pretty sure we always have.
As for strangest animal I ever saw in the wild, probably Ring Tailed Cat and chachalaca close to Del Rio Tx.

We have a couple of Florida Panthers (not the hockey team) resident here in Indian River County that I see every so often near the landfill. That cat back in EF Parish was a little bigger and a lot darker, but pretty much the same thing.
