re: What are some of the MT's opinions regarding a traveling career?

As a single man, I did it for four years. I traveled probably 80% of the time, often on temporary assignment for several months at a time without returning home. I saw a lot of the country (and the world) and met some great people. Living on the expense account let me sock away quite a bit of money. But eventually it wears thin. Four years was about all I could take. To this day I have no more interest in traveling.
