If Teheran continues to progress, it will be a shame to send him down, even though it is the right thing to do. I doubt it would happen, but if we have six starters all pitching well, I wouldn't mind seeing the Braves try and trade Maholm at the deadline. I don't think he will be back next season, as he has probably pitched himself out of the Braves budget.

As to Schafer, he has played well and I would hate to see him go, but it would be best for him if he had the opportunity to play every day. He still hasn't proven he can be consistent in an every day role, but he has shown the ability to take a walk and has a much better approach at the plate.

Schafer can't play anywhere everyday though.

Pitching in the rotation at AAA is better than being in the bullpen pitching sporadically. The Braves won't trade Maholm because they're trying to win. Let him walk at the end of the year if you re-sign Hudson
