While the Dan Brown books definitely lack in some (ok, a lot) of areas, one area they don't lack is in their easy readability. You can fly through those books.

Davinci Code, Angels & Demons. If you'd rather go the govt conspiracy route than the religious conspiracy route, Digital Fortress is an option.

I don't like his books at all, but from the two that I have read, they are definitely "fast paced" quick reads. He uses decent cliffhangers. Even a slow reader should get through one of his books in a few days at most.
