I agree with you that A-Ha Shake was their best album. A-Ha Shake may have been their last album that had a unifying sound -- i.e. all the tracks seem like they belong together as a single work -- but imho it didn't mark the end of them making great songs.

I think Ragoo is their best song. And say what you will about Use Somebody, but I think that's a damn good song as well. Same with I Want You. Same with Back Down South. Etc. I think they're still putting otu excellent tracks.

I don't think excellent tracks define a great band though. A great band, at least in my opinion, is defined by great albums. That is the true measure of greatness to me and they haven't put out a great album since aha shake.

Like I said earlier, they've shown glimpses but haven't been able to reel it in and bottle it.

interesting opinions on A-Ha Shake... I couldnt get into it...

I think the turn off was hearing that taper jean girl song...
