I can afford the hobie, but I hate to shell out for something I may not even like or use enough to justify the cost. What I'm drawn to on the Hobie is the mirage drive. Not sure If I want to paddle between casts.
I've never been out in a yak or fished from one. So, I have no idea what I really want.

Try renting one before you buy. Make sure it's a good fit for you. Cheap yaks and mountain bikes are all over craigslist because someone bought the wrong thing.

yeah, I HATE paddling. My next yack will probably be a KC with a trolling motor.
