Toon is under $800K through 2015. He could make Colston expendable. Blasphemy to some I know. Prudent cap management to others (see Anquan Boldin).
ya, that would be painful.
It's gotta be:
Colston
Morgan
Moore
Roby
Stills
Toon
...unless someone breaks out or Toon is a bust.
Is Roby safe?

Blasphemy my arse. This is full on heresy!

They love Roby and he's a team leader . I almost don't even categorize him as a WR at this point. He's got his own category.

I may be most excited about picking Kenny Stills at WR.
I think it was Charles Davis or some draftnik saying he was moved to slot, but his true position is outside.
That kind of versatilty is especially important on gameday. You need guys that can fill in at multiple places (ala Roby ST/WR).
Also, if you saw espn's Game Changers, Stills does not lack confidence.
I think we are gonna see him on Sundays this year, and not on some inactive list.

I've said it before.
everyone needs to brace themselves for the Toon let down.
I just don't see him active on sundays. He was garbage in camp last year before injuries.

What ever happened to adrian arrington? Did we drop him?

Dude played in one preseason game last year. How could you know?

good thing we have Sproles and Graham or else the WR corps would be concerning.
...if Colston misses his usual several games, it will be Moore and a bunch of unproven guys.

Agreed. But I'd really like to see Sproles and Graham be a compliment to our wrs and not a substitute for it . I think when we try to go to them too much is when our offense becomes predictable and easier to stop.

With all these unproven players i would like to see them sign a vet like Deion Branch.

Colston has missed like 3 games in the past 4 years

I love Moore, but he's always good for missing a few games over some bs injury. We have a group of hungry young ones thats gonna push for playing time.

everyday in camp the reports on him were bad routes and dropped balls. the only day I went, he looked out of place and dropped quite a few balls.
he's just not that impressive to me. we have better players in front of him.

Colston, Moore, Roby, Stills, Toon, Morgan
I'm fairly confident in Colston, Moore, Roby, Morgan, and Stills making the team.

Unless Toon explodes in the preseason, I can see him clearing waivers and making the practice squad. Stills would get picked up by someone. And with Sproles, Graham, and Cadet being capable of lining up at WR, I don't see us carrying 6 WRs.
Colston, Moore, Morgan, Stills, and Roby make the team, Toon on the practice squad.

True, there's not a Calvin Johnson amongst the WRs, but Drew Brees has more than capable set of playmakers, TD-catchers, chain-movers, and field stretchers to evenly spread the ball to with Sean Payton overseeing the gameplan .
Brees' possible gameday passing options:
Colston (TD-catcher, chain-mover)
Graham (playmaker, TD-catcher, chain-mover, field stretcher)
Sproles (playmaker, TD-catcher, chain-mover)
Moore (TD-catcher, chain-mover)
Pierre (chain-mover)
Watson (chain-mover, TD-catcher )
Morgan (field stretcher, TD Catcher)
Stills (chain-mover, field stretcher)
Cadet (chain-mover)
Ingram
Collins
Roby
Givens
The Saints are gonna score a lot of points this year. If the defense simply improves to medicore, we could see another 5000+ season from Brees and a Super Bowl contender.

I think the number will be 5 or 6 and Colston and Moore can't be cut do to there contracts(wouldn't be cut anyway but just in case someone tries to question where they stand).
5 or 6 will depend a lot on how many we keep elsewhere also: S(4 or 5), LB(8 or 9), TE(2 or 3), and DE(4 or 5). It also just occured to me with Vaccaro's versatility they could go 4 CBs and 5 Ss, but we could keep 5 of each still.
Barring a preseason superstar, I see it as follows:
Big Target: Colston and Toon
Speedster: Morgan and Stills
Slot: Moore and Stills
That's 5 and if we keep a 6 that will be Roby for special teams. It's also possible Stills makes an impact on special teams and makes Roby expendable, which then makes keeping 5 more likely, though we could take a flyer on a youngster if he shows enough.

Moore's missed 12 games in 6 years and 9 of those came in 1 year. 3 games in 5 years sounds good to me.
And if anyone is curious about Colston, he's missed 10 games in 7 years and 5 of those came in 1 year. So that's 5 games in the other 6 years.
