I kill just about any snake other than grass or king just to watch those ugly mofos squirm.

Glad someone else feels that way. With few exceptions (e.g. wild hogs) if you are not going to eat it or if it not an immediate threat, leave it be. I have caught and relocated plenty of cottonmouths, rattlesnakes and coral snakes over the years.
