NBA Draft talk

I know everyone on TD hates Bleacher Report including myself, but they have the most recent mock draft. Here's the top ten and a few other guys:
1. Magic - Nerlens Noel C Kentucky
2. Bobcats - Ben McLemore SG Kansas
3. Cavaliers - Otto Porter SF Georgetown
4. Suns - Anthony Bennett SF UNLV
5. Pelicans - Alex Len C Maryland
6. Kings - Trey Burke PG Michigan
7. Pistons - Shabazz Muhammad SG/SF UCLA
8. Wizards - Cody Zeller PF/C Indiana
9. Timberwolves - Victor Oladipo SG Indiana
10. Trail Blazers - C.J. McCollum PG/SG Lehigh
Other guys mentioned on this board:
13. Mavericks - Michael Carter Williams PG Syracuse
14. Jazz - Kentavious Caldwell-Pope SG Georgia
So if you're Dell Demps, assume the guys before the Pelicans are gone, who do you pick?
I'd be okay with Alex Len, but would prefer Trey Burke or Michael Carter-Williams. The SF issue can be dealt with in free agency hopefully with Igoudala, if available, Josh Smith, depending on the price tag which I'm sure will be too high, or someone else along those lines. What say you?

Would take any of these ahead of Len

This mock draft is absolutely hilarious

A "Pelicans writer" on B/R said that the Fleur De bee logo was adopted just last season when Tom bought the team, and another article says our perfect free agent signing would be Darren collison. This is why nobody likes B/R

I know Bleacher Report blows. They just had the most recent mock. I'm just trying to start some form of basketball conversation over here. Hell there was a thread here about the damn Saints draft

Sadly that wouldn't surprise me.

this board would absolutely explode if the draft panned out as such.

per capita, the latter. by far the latter.

Alex Len. The Saints talk was waiting to explode no matter who got picked. I have no idea what they expected, but they'd be mad regardless

quote:I was upset at first because I really wanted Jarvis jones and didn't know too much about vaccaro but after doing a little research on the guy i'm warming up to him. think he may be a solid pick and it won't take much to be an upgrade on the retard twins we have at safety now

jarvis has the injury history, and Vaccaro didn't. i think that's more or less what it boiled down to. take the healthy player that's going to produce right away. if jarvis stays healthy, he's going to be good. but kenny is less of a risk.
anyway, I don't know much about Len outside of what's been posted on here. people on here aren't high on him. he would fit a need, but i'm not sure he's the way to go. trey is going to be a better player in the long run, IMO. gotta just go with best player available. with GV and Trey at PG and even Roberts getting spotty minutes, you'd be set at 2 positions (PG and PF) for the next few years.

Well, while we have most of the regulars here, what do you guys think of Vasquez?
I think he's extremely stats driven and makes too many bad decisions to be a good point guard. I think it's the worst position on the team. He's not a legitimate scoring threat nor a great distributor. I just can't stand him

So this has actually happened before?

I don't think pg is our biggest need but I wouldn't mind an upgrade. I think grevis is serviceable but will need to be replaced eventually. think with solid talent around him his ceiling is an average pg.

i don't know how you could say that or substantiate that claim.

makes too many bad decisions
he does make some bad decisions and he's certainly upgradeable, but he's also serviceable at this point. though if burke is there, i think you take him. i think he's getting better and will continue to progress at making decisions. he's just not who you want out there with the game on the line. he had at least 4 or 5 times this season to win games on last second shots, and i'm not sure he won a single one.

that would be small forward

I agree that we need a PG that is a good scorer, but Vasquez is a great distributor even with his terrible court vision. The man was second in the league per assists per game last year and was a candidate for most improved player. I don't really like the guy that much either honestly though. The way he plays drives me sick sometimes as well, but he's still young and this team needs a true difference maker at small forward firstly, then address the PG and C positions
