That's what I liked so much about the older stuff. It was like I could feel exactly what they were talking about, although I never went through a rough breakup, cheated - or was cheated on, or was an alcoholic.
Very few other genres had that effect on me. A few rock songs or other songs here and there, but the old country really stood above the rest to me.
