the bigger question is, has Neighbors jumped Copeland for the #1 FB slot?

Neighbors
He probably has a higher grade, cause Copeland, while a beast, misses alot of assignments.

Also remember that motion and alignment is often a tool for the quarterback to figure out what coverage the defense is in and if they are making adjustments to any motion.

It was interesting to see Neighbors start with the white team, and Copeland with the purple. Copeland did switch to the white in the second half, though.

I doubt anyone beats out Copeland!

Yeah, I'm sure opposing DB's are ecstatic about having to tackle Copeland in space.

I say: You get nervous easily.

I would say its possible that they move the FB to see who moves, if anyone, on the defence so the QB and get a better read on what def they are in.

Why should anyone be worried about that? Do you think FB's should never run routes because their routes can be jumped?
If the FB is covered, then don't throw the ball to him. It's pretty simple.

Mark Richt will probably have that same reaction, which is why we should institute it.

you're absolutely correct. in fact, it's such a no-brainer, we should line an FB up in the slot for every package. you should be on the coaching staff, for sure. thanks for the in-depth analysis and clarification.

Chill out dude, and pull your panties out of your arse.
It's not unheard of for a FB to shift out to the slot. I have never heard anyone worried that a cb or safety could jump a FB's route. They can jump any route, it's not like the FB is running deep outs or post corners.
If you shift a fullback out to the slot and a LB goes out there with them then you know they are probably in man.
If a corner or safety decide to cover a FB in the slot, you shouldn't be worried about them "jumping the route" because that probably means a linebacker is covering a RB or TE or the wide receiver has straight up man on the outside.
So tell me again what's wrong with a FB shifting out to the slot and why are CB/S so much more adept at "jumping routes" when covering them?

Copeland lined up in the slot several times on 1/9/12. Of course the result of the play looked like a horse fart, but it has been in the playbook....

my panties shall remain in my arse. (i'm afraid you took my response more seriously than i did. sorry about that, but you should cut down on some of the condescension, which you continue even into the response i'm now addressing.)
yes, i've seen FBs shift into the slot, but i can't remember seeing them line up there immediately after breaking the huddle. that's a lot less common, wouldn't you agree?
your points about the LB or S being the first to cover the FB are well received, though.

thanks for being a bro and not responding to the thread as if i was a blind, autistic 8 year-old who'd never seen a CFB game.
did copeland line up there from the huddle on 1/9/2012?
