Yeah they did. It was one of the main ways to get resources. They had a very limited range of gates to choose from, with the majority of the planets being dangerous to visit

Each galaxy is different, which is why anything is possible. Plus they were limited on both gate travel and ship controls, on top of that they had no idea where they where or where to go.

Oh and the Atlanteans never made it to Destiny, they ascended way before, only Destiny and the seeds ships made it there. Those ships were there over a million years before the Destiny crew. It's fair to assume the galaxy changed a lot since then. Strange how you watched the show yet don't understand a big part of the premise.

Ever been to a funeral where people didn't tell stories some comical about the dearly departed? It isn't realistic to have no humor. Once again, BSG had the 12 colonies destroyed but they lived on and part of living on is humor.

No, they didn't. They had numerous Earth episodes with the rape stones and they had numerous struggle on the ship episodes.

I understand the premise plenty. Maybe it is you who doesn't understand. Why build a gate system to nowhere? Seems like some of the planets would have life and they would actually lead somewhere.

What a crock. I watched it because I loved SG1 and SGA. SGU sucked and NONE of the reasons were trivial. It was a boring show, with mostly terrible actors, and horrific writing. Oh but at least it was realistic.
