1) NBA abolishes the current age requirement. Anyone 18 or over can come on down if a team will have them. 2) If a kid signs to a scholarship, however, he can't go to the NBA for at least two years (or three . . . but that's pushing it). Those two rules, alone, would improve both the college game and the NBA.
Im actually in favor of this, it makes alot of sense imo. I believe it really would improve both the college game and NBA, but it will never happen likely, o well.
Now on to Marcus Smart, i like to thing he had more on his mind than just money and basketball. Maybe hes a smart kid who is serious about his education, and wanted to go on ahead and get his associate's degree. Or maybe he loves his team too much, that he felt he had unfinished business. Or maybe he just fell in love with the college experience, im sure its a great feeling of being the big man on campus. Or maybe he knows his draft stock will go down, and he wants to go to an already established team like the spurs, thunder, heat knicks. Instead of having the pressure of trying to be a franchise's savior. Whatever the case, Im sure he thought long and hard about this, so i will only wish him the best
