What Time are Dividends Usually Paid?

I was supposed to get shares today for my Altria dividend and its 11 pm and still no shares....im with etrade fwiw.....just wondering when shares are paid usually

I haven't looked into Altria, but was the dividend declared today or was it to be paid today? Also you will not be paid in shares of stock unless its a special case of a "stock dividend". It will normal be paid in cash which you may or may not have elected to reinvest. In that case the cash dividend would be used immediately to buy shares of stock.

With Schwab reinvested dividends show up in purchased shares on payable date + 1 day, early in the morning on that day.

Dividend Day is like an extra holiday every quarter.
