I was at a bar one night with Jim Joyce. Really, an awesome dude. After several beers I asked him about that game. He told me it was without a doubt the worst moment in his professional career, said that everything he told the reporters was from the bottom of his heart and he apologized to Gallarraga every time he saw him.

It was obvious it really bothered him, he said he just reacted, and right away he knew he was flat out wrong.

If he knew right awayy, then he should have changed the call on the field. It was my understanding that he didn't know until he saw the replay in the back.
