I don't know. I know not all broken bone injuries are the same, but I could see this easily ending his career as an elite college / pro athlete. I remember Tyrone Prothro at Alabama breaking his leg and getting the rod insert in what seems like a similar fashion and he could barely run a couple of years later, much less get back to playing condition at that level.
