So if your mundo, you hover your cursor where u want to throw your cleaver. Then you press "q" and if you hold it the range indicator thing will come up so you can see your aim. There is also a way to cancel it without throwing the cleaver if you have pressed 'q' but I haven't played in 2 weeks and forget how to do it lol. But yeah, nothing to it - once you make the change you won't regret it.

SOme people dont like it on certain things, like lux and specific skill shots, but I use it on everything.
