basically, being 8-0 is useless if you sit and dance in middle while the other team pressures objectives.
Truth.
With a little luck might make plat this season and that above statement is a big part of it.
And to the other guy, the advantage of pushing pre-6 is it is much more difficult to last hit under your tower early, depending on champ. THat is why it can be advantageous to push. The down side is it becomes more difficult to gank and leaves you more susceptible to their jungle / roaming mid.

Yeah. They push the tower, don't take it out, get flanked, and lose their own tower in addition to CS.
You do have a good point about last hitting under tower, but the risk is kinda high for such a little reward.

its not a high risk if you know what youre doing.
first questions to ask:
1. do they have a hard-initiate-frick-you-in-the-arse support like leona? at what point does she become like that?
2. what jungler do they have? is lee sin going to come slap your shite at lvl 2 with a red buff at 3:00 in? are you blue or red side?
3. where is the jungler? are other lanes winning/losing? would you be the only lane pressuring?

quote:That's why you push until their tower is taking out your minions and back off or just buy plenty of wards to cover your back so you get adequate vision of ganks before they happen. Like warding further down river. The sooner you see the gank coming, the better chance you can completely avoid the gank altogether.

Here's a more visual example. In top lane, most people who ward at your level (If they ward at all), will ward at point A. The problem with that is you will only get vision of the gank if they come straight from river. In theory, that's fine. But if you plan on shoving them to tower, that vision is way too close to you. By the time you get knowledge of the gank, they already have the angle on you and you're most likely either dead or going to tank a good deal of damage. Warding at point B gives you vision way ahead of time if they decide to come straight from river, but it also gives you vision of if they are going to come in from behind your turret. Junglers that have the ability to get over/through walls will use this path if they are set up to do so. It also helps out your jungler by giving him vision of whether or not the enemy jungler is trying to counter jungle at his blue buff. Now to cover all bases, a ward at point C inside the tribrush will give you vision if they are ganking from their red buff. It's a more conservative gank compared to coming straight from river, but if you're facing a jungler with hard CC such as Vi after 6, maokai, etc., you'll need this ward to prevent you from getting hit straight from the side. To sum it up, if you plan on pushing them for the majority of the game in top lane, warding at points B and C are better options than warding at A.
Now for mid lane, it's a bit more complicated because you can be ganked from so many angles. Again, the majority of mid laners will ward points A and B. Same as top lane, if you are pushing them to tower, that vision is way too late to save you. Warding further out at point D will give you vision plenty with plenty of time to back off if they are ganking you coming from bot via river. It will also give you vision of whether or not they are coming straight through the side bush, or heading up to gank from around the corner, or going towards your tower to completely flank you. As for coming from top side, a ward at point F will alert you of ganks coming from their red buff, while point E will alert you of a gank from around the back side. Point C I actually misplaced. You want that ward to be more towards the very top of the bush so you get vision if they are coming to your lane from blue buff. Another alternative to E, if you want vision from a bit further out, is to ward the bush in the middle of the river, but if they are coming around the back, you won't have vision of them for long, so you'll have to be constantly checking your minimap. F can also be put further down towards the ramp if you aren't confident enough to go that deep into their jungle. A ward at point G will cover a flank from bot side. If that's your only ward, the vision is still fairly close to you, so you'll want to immediately start running toward your turret but also hugging the top side wall. Every step closer you get to tower before the jungler can actually initiate onto you is vital.

After losing my first two games this morning, I've carried pretty hard on the next two as Zyra.
Her disengage is so great, and being able to root someone who is out of position is really nice.

From what I've seen from pro games on YouTube, they tend to maintain a somewhat neutral lane and use that balance to get their opponent in range to poke.
I like using that strategy as well. So, ganks are more effective, getting back to tower is easier, and I don't take any accidental tower damage.
Maybe I'm using a flawed strategy.

that's because of the level of play in pro games. ganks are deadlier and people are better at last hitting under the tower.
in your average shitter game, people will get maybe half cs under a tower and their jungle may or may not have downs.
there are some things to extrapolate from proplay but be careful doing that; the metas are different in various skill ranges for a reason

quote:5v5 team games are infinitely different from soloq. You have to play like you have to take every objective for your team. 5v5 teams practice heavily with each other and know everyone's tendencies and are 9 times out of 10 on the same page. In soloq you've never played with anyone on your team before. The only way of communicating is through pinging and typing. Depending heavily on teammates to do what they're supposed to do will end up with you losing more than winning. I learned that the hard way.

Got Quinn for the first time. Didn't really get to mid/late game.
Weak pretty early, so I had to sit near tower, but out farmed everyone.
Not really sure about the ult cuz I didn't get to use it but twice.
Felt pretty natural and fun.

You shouldn't be losing early as Quinn. She's a huge lane bully.

I don't know who it was, but their q hurt early. And they were ranged too.
I didn't take any potions with me, opting for Dorian's blade.
No big deal. Just hung around the tower until lvl 4 when I had enough of a combo to get a kill.

Maybe graves or draven.
I know corki.
Funny thing is. Ad and support went top. So I figured I would be stuck 2v1. Nope.
After lvl 4, I had about 20 CS advantage. Got the kill, caught the mid laner in the river. And it got out of hand pretty quickly with us winning two lanes by a lot.
