uninstalled and reinstalled drivers for the controller?
also a few things which might help. Flash latest BIOS version and use a different cable.

That's what I did, then saw your post suggesting the same. Still, you get half credit. 
Didn't think about the LAN drivers until I double-checked the support website and saw in big freaking letters "LAN DRIVERS".
