Do almost all education jobs do this?
I wasn't aware of any such thing. Glad there is a program which helps us get qualified personnel into the classroom.

I don't think they do that in Alabama, wish they did

You have to teach at a Title 1 school, which has 30% students from low-income families or something like that, for five years. In Baton Rouge, that's essentially every public school. You get even more loan forgiveness if you teach students with disabilities during that time, or if you are a "highly qualified" secondary math or science teacher at a Title 1 school.

It's a federal program.
