Has anyone had any experience with the Rocksmith software/game? LINK
For those that don't know, it is a game (much like rock band etc) but you use an actual guitar which plugs into your computer or console with the provided cord. There are mini games to help you learn chords etc.
Anyone have experience with it? I just purchased it for my PC for $30 hoping that it will give me some direction on learning more fundamentals and having fun learning.

used it before and liked it. wasnt a total novice but was far from pro.
once the difficulty caught up to my level and started pushing i noticed some growth. one nice thing is it pushed me out of my same old same old genre/techniques/sound and i got to try some that i never really had touched before.

its not without flaw, and im sure it has critics but for me, it was a good excuse to play more often, and venture out some.
anyone who doesnt have a big arsenal of songs knows it can be tough to get over some of the plateaus you hit both with motivation and skill.
has both songs that increase in difficulty from 3 chord versions up to full on as well as arcade style games for things like scales, and moving up and down the neck more comfortably
when your not getting a run of notes you can change difficulty by slowing the songs down, or pulling some of the notes out too for instance
its useful. for $30, you wouldnt get near as much from 1-2 lessons as you can messing around with this casually.
