I don't think Beasley was actually hurt. He had a yellow, but I'd rather take my chances with him than Morrow.
Regarding the substitutions.... Yeah, they didn't make sense, but that falls as much on player selection as anything.
My biggest gripe from last night was having Gomez taking the set pieces, especially with Zusi, Beasley and Bradley on the field. We pissed away a couple opportunities.

I'm not suggesting actually subbing Beasley off - he did well even if he was injured.
I was thinking more along the lines of just giving the back line a little bit more support.
Why not sub Beckerman on for Zusi, Gomez or Dempsey (all 3 impacted the match very little outside of short stretches of play) and push Bradley a bit more forward into a box-to-box role? Bring on Davis or Shea for Altidore and move Gomez to the middle?
You know, subs that might actually work or be beneficial tactically.
