Laird is currently in the 2 hole and only has 2 steals. 2-4. Right now, Bregman is a much better base stealer then Laird is.

Speed helps with this obviously, but it's also about being a good base runner. Getting a good jump off of the bat and rounding the bases well. Being a good base runner can make up for a hell of a lot in lack of speed.

I can respect this, this makes sense. I see why you don't want to put him in the 2 hole, I just don't agree with some of your reasons. I don't think I've really ever disagreed with anything you have said other than this.

You don't need speed for this, but what happens if the pitch is wild or the batter can't get a stick on it is the guy getting pegged at second. That's what happened to on Sunday.
